Liverpool Biennial Case Study 2
Liverpool Biennial is an international festival of contemporary art taking place at 28 sites in and around Liverpool over a two month period.
For the 2008 Festival, two publications were produced, an anthology of all the exhibits and a visitor guide. Both were thread sewn books with imagery for the covers commissioned by Mat Maitland at Big Active.
Both featured vivid colourways and the Anthology image included orange and a CMYK silver. To maximise the colours we used the hexachrome process which allows for an extended colour gamut through the use of two additional colours (orange and green), specialised reprographics and an intense range of inks. Gloss lamination further enhanced the vibrancy of the print.
