Marshalls Case Study 5

Sometimes when artwork is supplied as CMYK we will take a view that we would achieve a better result by using a “special” colour. In such a case we will convert the artwork to five colours in order to achieve consistency in the solid areas, without compromising the full colour images.

Marshalls' Corporate Social Responsibility Report was sent to us with CMYK artwork throughout, but we thought the orange cover would print more successfully as a special. Because our presses have eight units, we are able to print a special colour and sealer at the same time as the normal four process inks, adding very little to the client’s cost or its carbon footprint.
